Tame Your Tresses

It is a funny thing, our relationship with our hair. We wash, towel dry, blow dry, curl, straighten, wear up, wear down... and then wonder why it might not always look its best. My hair doesn’t like me very much right now- my obsessive use of straighteners is the main culprit. So, on a quest to show my hair some love, here are some of my favourite treats to do just that.

My perfect shampoo: John Masters Honey & Hibiscus Reconstructing Shampoo (£26) LOVE it. Feels gentle, yet rebuilds hair with each wash as it cleans, using the same acids found in young hair. I swear my hair feels different after use and the scent is great too.

Best conditioner: I adore Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Conditioner (£18). I love mint scents and this one is like an invigorating wakeup call every time I use it; my scalp literally tingles. The formulation is really light, and comes in a generous 444ml size- it lasts for ages. The bottle is made of recyclable plastic, the product is vegan, Gluten Free, USDA Organic certified...basically, it ticks every box.

The ultimate luxury: Caudalie Divine Oil (£25). Yes, this is a dry oil. Yes, it is multi-use. But for taming flyaway hair and split ends it works just as well as any specific hair oil I have tried. The fragrance is divine (maybe the reason for the name?), it really works without leaving hair greasy, and you can use it anywhere else you fancy too, even in the bath. Top marks.

NEW Caudalie Vinexpert Range

When clinical tests prove to be as exceptional as they have for the new Caudalie Vinexpert range, you know the formulations must be good. Caudalie have got it so right.

Resveratrol-Oleyl is the star active ingredient, and ‘stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, stops at the source the glycation responsible for deep wrinkles, and redensifies the skin.’  The 5 treatments that make up the range tackle skin ageing at the source, combining science with nature to deliver top results.

The Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid SPF15 (£35) is a great moisturiser for day, suitable for all skin types and designed to fight the first signs of ageing, fine lines and wrinkles. The texture is so smooth and moisturising yet quite light. Plus it contains pearlisers and light-reflecting pigments that leave skin glowing. For dry skin, the Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Cream SPF15 (£35) is richer in consistency and therefore a better option.

The two serums in the range can be used morning and evening, in conjunction with the day creams and the Caudalie Vinexpert Night Infusion Cream (£35), an intensive night treatment for all skin types. We even have selected Caudalie samples available if you want to try before purchasing the full size. Give it a go and see the results for yourself!

Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrkinle Serum Reviews

Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrkinle Serum Review
by Sue B.

Application: The instructions on the dispenser state to apply Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrinkle serum, in the morning and evening, to the face and neck, avoiding the eye area, before applying Pulpe Vitaminee cream or fluid. There are also pictorial instructions regarding application on the website. The light smooth serum is quickly absorbed leaving no residue and has a subtle fruity aroma.
Packaging: Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrinkle serum comes in a 30ml pump dispenser with green text on a white background, this is a good contrast and makes it easy to read. The only information on the dispenser concerns application detail, how soon it is to be used after opening and a website address.

Ingredients: There is no list of ingredients on the tube so I referred to the website for more information. The ingredients appear to be all naturally sourced with no parabens, phenoxyethanol, artificial colourings or mineral oils. Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee 1st wrinkle serum has a high concentration of anti oxidants with anti aging ingredients from the grape and the vine.

Results: Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrinkle serum reports to correct signs of aging and tired skin. The sample that I reviewed had just three days worth of serum which I feel is not enough to test their claim. The serum did absorb quickly and smelt refreshing but at £35 for 30ml it is quite expensive.

Pros: Fast absorption rate. Suitable for anyone aged 20 to 40 years who is keen to keep looking youthful. Refreshing aroma. Informative website if you want to find out more. It will last for nine months after opening. It is not tested on animals. Pump dispenser is easy to use.

Cons: £35 for 30ml. There was not enough of the sample to try for more than three days; therefore I could not determine whether the manufacturer’s claims were true.

Caudalie Pulpe Vitaminee Antiwrkinle Serum (£35) and Caudalie products are available at Naturisimo.

Caudalie Anti-wrinkle Ultra-nourishing Cream

Review of Caudalie anti-wrinkle ultra-nourishing cream.

By Sue B.

Packaging: Caudalie anti-wrinkle ultra-nourishing cream comes in a soft pink tube with a lid that enables you to stand it upright, keeping the cream at the top of the tube. The information on the tube is: the application details, how soon it is to be used after opening and a website address. The green text on the soft pink tube makes a good contrast for reading.

Application: The instructions state to apply morning and evening to face and neck therefore this would reduce the need for separate moisturisers. The Caudalie rich white cream is easily applied and absorbed within moments. It gives the feel of a good quality moisturiser with little fragrance and no tightness after applying.

Ingredients: There is no list of ingredients on the tube so I referred to the website for more information. On inspection, the ingredients appear to be all naturally sourced with no parabens, phenoxyethanol, artificial colourings or mineral oils.

Results: I’ve been using Caudalie anti-wrinkle ultra-nourishing cream for very dry skin for the past three weeks as my skin is generally dry and I moisturise daily. I enjoyed the feel of the deep moisturising properties yet I have not noticed any smoothing of wrinkles. I think this would be an ideal product for anyone with very dry skin or who spends a lot of time outside, particularly during the winter months.

Pros:

It has anti oxidant properties.

It is both a day and evening moisturiser, so this would reduce the need for separate products.

It is made of natural ingredients.

It is not tested on animals.

Cons:

It tends to leave a slight residue

It is recommended for very dry skin or those that are exposed to harsh climates only.

It costs £27.50p for a 40ml tube so is quite expensive.

Caudalie Anti-wrinkle Ultra-nourishing Cream (£27.50) and Caudalie products are available at Naturismo.com.
